Distribution:
Very rare, but locally abundant along the Bridgewater Canal, Cornbrook, Manchester
(SJ8196, SJ8296 & SJ8297, DP Earl & J Earl, 1995, BON).
Habitat:
Base of railway viaduct walls along the canal towpath.
Taxon Designation:
South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
A widespread species of north-west Europe, with the main populations in Britain
occurring in East Anglia. Plants may haved declined from the Cornbrook site
due to hard landscaping and the application of weedkiller, c. 2005.
