Distribution:
Distribution: Discovered on the banks of the Ribble, south of Preston (SD5428, DP Earl, 1997, BON, conf. A Newton). Plants present along the Rufford branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal (SD4517, DP Earl & J Earl, 2005); at Carr Moss Lane, Halsall (SD3610, DP Earl & J Earl, 2010); by Stanworth Woods (SD6424, DP Earl & J Earl, 2011) require confirmation. Pink-flowered forms occurs in hedgebanks at Hale (SJ4781, DP Earl & J Earl, 2009); Brindle (SD5924, DP Earl & J Earl, 2011).

Habitat:
Riverbanks, canal towpaths, lanesides and hedgebanks.

Taxon Designation:

South Lancashire Axiophyte.
