Distribution:
A feature of the Ribble valley catchment area, the St. Helens Hills, hedgerows and scrub to the east of Wigan and river valleys to the east of Manchester; very local elsewhere.

Habitat:
Hedgerows, railway banks and scrub.

Taxon Designation:
South Lancashire Axiophyte.
