Distribution:
Locally common on the western plain and the flanks of Winter Hill, very local
elsewhere with scattered populations east to Sabden (SD7836) and County Brook
(SD9604) on the vice-county border, east of Oldham.
Habitat:
Woods, moorland scrub, heaths, sand-dunes, roadside banks, tracks and ditchsides
across the former mosslands.
Taxon Designation:
Endemic.
Comments:
Considered endemic to the British Isles, with the main populations extending
along the west coast from Liverpool to the North Channel and then across the
Southern Lowlands.
