Distribution:
Occasional on the lowland mosses and in the Chorley district, locally frequent in the Pendle Water valley.

Habitat:
Hedgerows, woodland borders, canal banks and birch woods on the former mosslands.

Taxon Designation:

Comments:
Produces excellent fruits which are remarkably large.
