Distribution:
Widespread, locally common on the coastal plain and extending around the southern
and northern flanks of the West Pennine Moors; often as feature of river valley
woodlands.
Habitat:
Woods, field scrub and hedgerows.
Taxon Designation:
South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
The long narrow petals are usually pink, but plants with white petals are common
in the Rufford area.
