Distribution:
Long known from the west of the vice-county about Knowsley & Kirkby but
extending inland as small scattered populations as far as Rochdale (SD9010)
and Brierfield (SD8336).
Habitat:
Woods, woodland borders, field scrub and old railways.
Taxon Designation:
South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
The South Lancashire populations are likely to have originated from the major
populations of North Wales.
