Distribution:
Occasional along the coast from Fleetwood Road, Southport (SD3418) to Hesketh
Marsh (SD4224).
Habitat:
Hedgerows and sand-dune scrub.
Taxon Designation:
South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
First collected from Fleetwood Road (SD3519, DP Earl & J Earl, 1997, BON,
conf. A Newton). Southport is the present known southern limit for this British
endemic. Plants resembling Rubus latifolius have been seen inland along
railway banks at Golborne (SJ6098) & Moston (SD8803) and require collection.
