Distribution:
Only known from the Black Brook Valley, St. Helens (SJ5297 & SJ5397, DP Earl
& J Earl, 1998, BON, conf. A Newton).
Habitat:
Woodland.
Taxon Designation:
South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
Considered an ancient woodland indicator. The South Lancashire population is the
north-western distributional limit in the British Isles for this widespread northern
European species.
