Boreau
This map has been generated by Mapmate 05/11/2011
Distribution:
A localised plant occurring in the northeast of the vice county from
Padiham Heights (SD7836) and Rose Grove Burnley (SD8131) eastwards; most frequent
in the Foulridge area where plants were thought to have been collected by A
Turner (c. 1940 per comm. A Newton).
Habitat:
Roadside verges, canal banks and bridletracks bordered by drystone walls..
Taxon Designation:
South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
This species can be confused with Rubus wirralensis which can on occasions
have sparsely hairy anthers, although this is a rare feature. Plants originally
thought to be this species that occur along a mossland lane at Woolston (SJ6689,
1995) were later determined as Rubus mucronatiformis.
