Distribution:
Frequent in the west and locally common to the east of Preston, extending through
the Ribble Valley to link with the major Yorkshire populations. Localised populations
occur in the Manchester region especially along the eastern borders of the vice-county.
Habitat:
Woods, woodland borders and hedgerows especially within and close by river valleys.
Taxon Designation:
Endemic; South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
Considered endemic to the north of England.
