This map has been generated by Mapmate 05/11/2011
Distribution:
Locally frequent to the east of Southport but scarce elsewhere in the lowlands,
occasional in the hill districts.
Habitat:
Ditchbanks and Betula woodlands on the former peat mosslands and in
a few acid grasslands and heaths usually near streams and rivers in the hill
districts.
Taxon Designation:
South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
More frequent than Rubus bertramii with which this species grows occasionally.
Old records for this species from the Manchester area probably refer to members
of the 'Rubus accrescens complex'.
