Distribution:
Several populations are established in the hill districts, very occasional as
a planted shrub elsewhere.
Habitat:
Riverbanks, roadside banks, woods, old railway stations and shrub plantings.
Comments:
Neophyte, native to North America where a feature of woods and riverbanks. Plants
have magnificent purple flowers in early spring and pleasant raspberry-like
fruits in summer.
