A revised map needs to be created to show the additional records made since
2005.
Distribution:
Known to be frequent to locally common between Billinge, Croft and Boothstown.
Habitat:
Woodland borders, hedgerows and industrial spoil heaps.
Taxon Designation:
Local Endemic; South Lancashire Axiophyte.
Comments:
Similar to Rubus platyacanthus but with glands present in the panicle
and with pricklets frequently present on the stems. Plants found in hedgerows
at Whitley, Cheshire may be this species.
