Distribution:
Beneath the Runcorn and Widnes Bridge (SJ5183, DP Earl, J Earl & SP Toone, 2002).

Former distribution:
A quarry near Winwick (SJ69B, Moore 1855); The Dingle, Liverpool (SJ38N, 1859, MANCH; WG Travis, 1908) where lost to the construction of a jetty for oil tankers. The record for SJ39 is likely to be an erroneous estimate for Liverpool.

Habitat:
Bunter sandstone rocks and walls usually subject to salt spray drift.

Taxon Designation:
International Responsibility; Species of Conservation Importance in North West England; Flowering Plants & Ferns Ff3; Lancashire BAP Provisional Long List ; South Lancashire Axiophyte.

Comments:
South Lancashire Axiophyte, Rare. Plants should be looked for on sandstone rocks and retaining walls in the tidal reaches of the river estuaries.
