Several small populations between Hightown and Ainsdale. A widely scattered garden escape elsewhere with the earliest record traced being from Haigh Plantation (SD50Y, EM Stephenson, 1995);
Habitat:
Woods; developing woodland on sand dunes, shaded railway banks, roadsides and cemetery margins.

Comment:
Neophyte, either planted or a garden outcast in South Lancashire.
