Zantedeschia aethiopica (L.) Sprengel - Altar-lily
Distribution:
Established plants were discovered along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to
the west of Parbold (SD4810, C Chadwick, 2007).
Habitat:
Canal marginal vegetation.
Comments:
Neophyte, native to South Africa. Still present in 2010 (DP Earl & J Earl)
although some plants had been removed and disposed of along the towpath. One
of the plants found along the towpath was subsequently grown on as a house plant
in order to provide the images that were taken during December 2010.
