Catapodium rigidum (L.) C.E. Hubb. - Fern-grass

Distribution:
Widely distributed but most frequent along the coastal fringe, occasional elsewhere.

Habitat:
Open bare ground, well-drained sandy and stony ground, wall tops, ballast and tips.

Taxon
Designation: South Lancashire Axiophyte.

Comments:
Formerly rare, now more frequent although adventive and not always persisting at inland locations.
