Found to be established at Clifton Country Park Arboretum (SD7604) c. 1975 by
Alan Newton and Peter Jepson. Plants still occurred at this location by an ascending
woodland path above a wooded pond (DP Earl, 2003) growing in associated with the
variegated-leaved form of the Bamboo Sasa veitchii.
On a return visit (DP Earl & P Bowdler, 2012) it was found that the Sasa
veitchii was now the dominant species and no plants of Rubus allegheniensis
were found.
