Rubus armeniacus Focke - Himalayan Giant

An escape from gardens and allotments that is now very well established in suburban areas. This very robust plant aggressively invades any vacant ground. Plants are particularly abundant along railway embankments.

The leaves are large and the leaflets are chalky-white beneath. The flowers are large, the petals pale pink and the styles are often red-based.
