A bramble of the section Corylifolii with numerous sub-equal glands on the stem faces (as with the series radulae) that is currently placed within the Rubus halsteadensis complex has been found on several occasions within a few miles of Manchester. In the Salford Borough this bramble has been found by Blackleach Reservoir (SD7403, DP Earl & MPG Tolfree, 2003) and along the wooded banks of the Irwell by the Student Village, Lower Broughton (SD8200, DP Earl & J Earl, 2011).

The flowers are white and the styles are often red-based.
