Common in a limited area between Ellesmere Park (SJ7799) and Dales Brow (SD7700)
with voucher specimens confirmed by A Newton being held at Bolton Museum. Recently
found by the A580, Ellenbrook (SD7301, 2009).
Characterised by the numerous pricklets along the stem and by the white flowers
with the red-based styles.
Note also the populations found at Astley Green in the Wigan Borough (SJ6999 &
SJ7099, DP Earl & P Bowdler, 2007).
