This species is occasionally found in the Salford Borough on marshy ground and is particulary frequent in the Worsley district and along the Irwell Valley. Plants were formerly locally abundant in the flushes below Kersal Cell (SD8101) but the population has declined in recent times due to succession with the development of an extensive area of bramble scrub.
