Equisetum sylvaticum L. - Wood Horsetail

This horsetail is often locally abundant on steep slopes along the Irwell Valley. Smaller colonies occur in woods to the north of Worsley and at Greenheys Clough. Tetrad recording carried out for the South Lancashire Flora Project has provided a record for the Glazebrook Valley (SJ69X, MPG Tolfree, 2000) probably within the Salford Borough.
