A localised plant of woodlands and cloughs at How Clough, Walkden (SD7402); Greenheys Clough (SD7003); Peel Hall Hospice Wood (SD7103); Kersal Vale (SD8101); Great Woolden Wood (SJ6993). Plants may occur at Clifton Country Park Woods. Melvill (1882) stated that plants occur "sparingly among meadow-grass in the field next the Moor" this location being Kersal Moor.
