Formerly locally abundant on the extensive railway sidings at Agecroft (SD7900)
but probably lost to the development of a science park and industrial estate.
Deliberately introduced to the old railway lines between Worsley Station, Ellenbrook
and Walkden; Blackleach Reservoir (SD7403, DP Earl & MPG Tolfree, 2003). The
precise location of plants at (SJ79H, MPG Tolfree, 1995) is not known but could
be from along the old mineral line of the Manchester Ship Canal.
Plants collected from a grass and wildflower sown area at the site of Worsley
Station (SD7500 & SD7600, A Franks, 1993) were determined as subsp. carpatica
var. pseudovulneraria by JR Akeroyd. This may also have been the identity of the
exotic plants sown along the old railways at Ellenbrook and Walkden and at Blackleach
Reservoir.
