Surprisingly no plants of Lords-and-Ladies were seen during the 1991-1992 survey
although a record was traced for near Worsley (SD7501, Greater Manchester Plant
Atlas, c. 1991).
Plants have since been found near Old Warke Dam (SD7500, P Edmondson, 1996) and
along a disused railway at Walkden (SD7302, DP Earl & J Earl, 2011). A record
from (SJ79H, MPG Tolfree & C Walsh, 2004) may be from the Salford Borough.
There are historic records for Peel Green (SJ7597, Greenless & Holden
1920); Kersal Moor Clough (SD8201, Wood 1840) ; woods about Clifton aqueduct
(SD7903, Wood 1840).
Lords-and-Ladies is a species that is steadily appearing in woodland habitats
about the suburbs of Greater Manchester and with time is likely to become more
frequent in the Salford Borough as has been the case with Wood Avens.
