A localised colonist of open ground usually on basic substrates such as limestone
ballast or exposed clay. Most of the records on the above map are from the Wigan
or Trafford Boroughs but plants have been seen at Barton Moss (SJ7397, Greater
Manchester Plant Atlas) and Salford Quays (SJ89D, AR Franks, 2001).
There is a voucher specimen for Chat Moss (SJ79C, 1842, Anon., MANCH).
