Occasional. Plants occur in wet woods, in shaded ponds and along streamsides. There was a good population at the ox-bow lake, Irlam (SJ7294, DP Earl, 1991). T Edmondson (1953) indicated that plants occurred "at the lower portions of Great Woolden Wood. Also in moist open sites along the Glaze Brook valley".
