Along Cut Nook Lane (SJ7196, DP Earl, 1991) where possibly planted as the plants
are close by to a cottage. Edmondson (1953) found this species growing abundantly
in a nearby Glazebook valley woodland the details of which need to be traced.
Formerly recorded from near Clifton, Pendleton, Broughton and Irlam in the Victorian
Manchester floras. Plants should be looked for along the Irwell and Mersey valleys.
