A locally frequent species that is most common about Worsley Woods. Probably increasing
via animal dispersal as the hooked achenes readily attached to animal fur and
to peoples clothing. Plants still occur at Broughton where this species was recorded
in the Flora Mancuniensis (JB Wood 1840).
