This invasive plant was first observed at a newly created pond along the old
railway line at Roe Green (SD7501, DP Earl, 1991) and could have been accidentally
introduced as Glyceria maxima variegata was also present at this location. Possible
eradicated at Roe Green as plants have not been seen on return visits.
Plants have recently be found to be well established by a pond at Ellenbrook (SD7201, DP Earl, P Bowdler & J Somerville, 2009).
At this stage it is not known if the records for (SJ79H & SJ79N, MPG Tolfree & C Walsh, 2004) are from the Salford or Trafford Boroughs. The record from SJ7494 is for Flixton Pool (MPG Tolfree, AR Franks & P Newton, 1990).
