Plants growing on an embankment by the East Lancs Road near Irlam o’ th’ Heights (SD7700) are correctly identified. Other records such as a crumbling brick wall on the banks of the Irwell, Lower Broughton (SD8100) require verification as this species may have been confused with the hybrid Fallopia x bohemica.
