Geum urbanum L. - Wood-avens

This map has been generated by Mapmate 09/01/2012

Considered to be a very localised plant of woodlands and gardens closeby to wooded areas during the 1991-1992 survey with only four records have been made. The distribution of this species is clearly increasing. It has been suggested that this increase may in part be due to the attachment of the heavily hooked achenes to the fur of mammals such as Grey Squirrels, domestic cats and dogs.
