Moehringia trinervia (L.) Clairv. - Three-nerved sandwort

This map has been generated by Mapmate 03/01/2012

A plant of woodlands and hedgebanks that is easily overlooked when not in flower and is thus probably more frequent in the Salford Borough than indicated by the associated distribution map. Plants can be seen along the wooded railway line at Monton Green (SJ7699). Regarded as "a characteristic plant of the Kersal Moor neighbourhood" (SD8102, Melvill 1882). It is likely that this species still occurs in the woodlands at Clifton (SD7703, C Bailey, 1863, MANCH). The recent record from the Bury district is from Philips Park (SD7903).

MANCH is the museum abbreviation code for The Manchester Museum.
