Plants were only seen during the 1991-1992 survey as a deliberate introduction
beneath headstones at the churchyard by Kersal Moor (SD202) and at Weaste cemetery
(SJ8097) although there were additional Greater Manchester Plant Atlas records
for (SD7902) and (SD7903).
Several populations were later found at Worsley Woods (P Edmondson, 1996).
There are post 2000 records from Clifton Country Park (SD7803, DP Earl, 2003);
Kersal Vale (SD8201, DP Earl, 2003); a disused railway at Walkden (SD7302, DP
Earl, 2004) and could all be deliberate introductions.
Grindon (1859) regarded this species as common about Manchester, although Melvill
(1882) never saw a Primrose in the Kersal Moor neighbourhood.
