A local grassland species with a particularly fine population at Peel Green Cemetery. Note the records for the City Centre where plants can be introduced in turf as was the case by an industrial unit by Bailey Bridge (SJ8398, 1991).
At flowering time this species can be readily distinguished from the other common species of buttercup by looking for the strongly reflexed sepals beneath the petals.
