Found to be a localised species of ponds and ditchsides, reservoir margins and in Oxbow lakes during the 1991-1992 survey as at the Irlam Oxbow (SJ7294); Clifton Fishpond (SD7802) and a pond at Kersal Dale (SD8201) . Recent recording activity about Walkden and Blackleach Reservoirs indicates that this species is increasing in frequency.
