Not uncommon about Boothstown, beyond Worsley (J Evans Grindon 1859); Boothstown (P Yates, 1908). There are no recent records for the Salford Borough. Although said to be a feature ponds and streamsides in the historic Manchester Floras plants should nowadays be looked for along the Bridgewater Canal as this species is frequent to locally abundant along this canal in the Trafford Borough. Note also the recent record from the Bridgewater Canal at Astley (SJ7099, DP Earl, J Earl & P Bowdler, 2011).
