This hybrid is occasionally found along the margins of wet woodlands. There are
records from Westwood Park (SJ7499); Worsley (SD7500); Clifton (SD7803); Broughton
(SD8100 & SD8200).
The above plants are clearly intermediate in character. EF Greenwood points out
that there is another hybrid form that closely resembles Stachys palustris
but has subsessile leaves and the characeristic smell of Stachys sylvatica.
