Symphytum officinale L. - Common Comfrey

This map has been generated by Mapmate 15/01/2012

Plants with strongly decurrent stem-leaves and cream-flowers occur along stream banks and mossland ditchsides in the western section of the Salford Borough. Such plants are thought to be Symphytum officinale (Common Comfrey) and not within the range of variation of the widespread hybrid Symphytum x uplandicum (Russian Comfrey).
