Very local. The main populations occur along the steep wooded banks of the River
Irwell at Clifton Country Park and extend at intervals along the Clifton Gorge
to near the aqueduct. A further population occurs in the Agecroft Clough (SD7901).
A single pallid-flowered plant was found at the base of a fallen Beech, Worsley
Woods (SD7401, R Pickles, 1991) but did not persist.
