There is an early record for this species from by the banks of the canal between
Clifton and Salford (SD80A, Grindon 1859). In more recent times planted
trees have been recorded at a number of locations between Eccles (SJ7798), Salford
(SJ8198) and Kersal Vale (SD8201).
It is likely that this species is more widely planted in amenity with the Salford
Borough that is indicated by the above distribution map.
