Plants which appear intermediate between Blackthorn and Damson have been seen
amongst tree and shrub planting areas at Boothstown and Ellenbrook. Suspected
plants closely resemble Prunus spinosa as young shrubs but with time
may grow into small trees and then closely resemble Prunus domestica
subsp. insititia. The fruits are larger than Sloes but smaller and more
round in shape than Damsons.
