A bird-sown bush on old railway sidings by the footbridge at Glazebrook Exchange,
Cadishead (SJ7092, DP Earl, 1991); a feature of tree and shrub plantings on land
by the Bridgewater Canal, Boothstown (SD7200, DP Earl, J Earl, P Bowdler &
A Bowdler, 2010).
Roses belonging to this species aggregate have numerous short-stalked glands on
the leaves which produce and apple-like smell during warm weather or when bruised.
