Rare. Small populations were known to be present on what remained of the relic
bogs at Woolden (SJ6894 & SJ6994, Greater Manchester Plant Atlas, c. 1992).
Return visits to the above sites are required to see if this species is still
extant in the Salford Borough.
There are old records for Kersal Moor (SD8102, Wood 1840); Chat Moss (SJ7196);
Barton Moss (SJ7396, Grindon 1859) during such times Cranberry was said to be
common on all the mosses about Manchester.
Note the recent records from Bedford Moss, Wigan Borough (SJ6997, S Stones, 2010); Holcroft Moss, Warrington Borough (SJ6893, DP Earl, P Bowlder & A Bowdler, 2010).
