Distribution:
Widespread but local as a planted tree.
Habitat:
Ornamental plantings in woodlands, churchyards, parks, cemeteries and along
roadsides.
Comments:
Neophyte, of horticultural origin. The earliest record traced is from the Blackburn
area (SD62, c. 1987) the location has yet to be traced but could well be Sunnyhurst
Wood, Darwen (SD6722).
