Distribution:
Present records indicate this species to be widespread, but the true species is
probably over-recorded.
Habitat:
Plantations.
Comments:
Neophyte, native to the European Alps and the Carpathians. Planted on the rural
estates (particularly on the mosslands) and recorded as a feature of the recent
reclamation planting schemes on formerly derelict industrial land. There are several
records from an early BSBI 10km recording scheme c.1950.
