Frequently planted and occasionally bird-sown in urban areas, particularly within
Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
Habitat:
Hedgerows, railway banks and shrub plantings.
Comments:
Neophyte, native to eastern Asia. The earliest record traced is from Freshfield
(SD2909, V Gordon, 1996).
