Distribution:
There are recent records for Hall Road (SD2900 & SD2901, PH Smith); Coastal
Road, Birkdale (SD3115, PH Smith); Birkdale Common (SD3215, PH Smith).
Former distribution: Most records were given at 10km level as indicated on the
associated distribution map. Specimens exist from Queen’s Park, Bolton
(SD70E, T Greenlees, 1936, BON); Hall Road (SD20V, Anon., 1955, BM, det. JB
Marshall); the Southport area (SD31, Anon., 1955, BM, det. JB Marshall).
Habitat:
Sandy ground and dunes near the sea.
Comments:
Neophyte, native to China. This taxon is considered to be far less frequent
than L. barbarum with which this taxon has been confused. Ideally the recent
records and the herbarium specimens require confirmation by a referee.
